Living in Birmingham
Birmingham is a great place to live, and comparatively low property prices mean that you
can have your pick of location, from the city centre to areas just a 15 minute bus ride to the
office - all at a fraction of the rents charged in London. Present and past associates have
tended to live in the city centre, Harborne or Moseley.
City Centre
One or two bedroom flats are reasonably priced in the city centre and allow quick access
to bars, restaurants, theatres, as well as to the Bullring and Mailbox for shopping and
socialising.
The Jewellery Quarter (where our office is located) is particularly popular, with
lots of quirky converted industrial buildings, a good range of pubs and restaurants, and a
highly social local community, consisting mainly of young professionals. The office is only a
10 minute walk from most parts of the city centre.
Harborne
Harborne is a small suburb 10 minutes from the centre by bus, with a very good high street
and selection of gastropubs. There are a large number of young professional house shares in
this area, which has been popular with both past and present employees.
Moseley
Moseley, which is about 15 minutes by bus outside of the city centre, has a more bohemian
feel. There are regular comedy nights, short film events, a farmers’ market, as well as an
eclectic mix of bars and restaurants. House share options in Moseley are quite varied,
ranging from just 2 to 3 people to as many as 10.
Getting Around
Getting around Birmingham is easy. Most city centre destinations are within walking
distance of our office. There is an excellent bus and rail network. Free parking is available at
the office.
